Ivan Edwards is a gifted vocalist, musician, and arranger whose life and calling have been deeply rooted in church music and ministry from an early age. A native of Lumberton, North Carolina, Ivan was raised in a faith-filled home where his love for gospel music was cultivated through singing with his family group, The Gospel Messengers, and active involvement in church ministry.

Ivan’s musical foundation was built in the church, where he learned not only how to sing, but how to minister through music. Over the years, he has faithfully served in various leadership roles, including Minister of Music and Christian Education Director (CED), gaining a well-rounded understanding of ministry, leadership, and worship. His passion for excellence in music led him to pursue formal training, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also classically trained, bringing both technical precision and emotional depth to his performances.

Residing for many years in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina region, Ivan has honed his talents across a wide range of musical outlets. His experience includes opera, off-Broadway productions, and a cappella performances for Christmas programs and special musical events. This diverse background has uniquely equipped him to excel in both classical and gospel music settings.

Ivan is a past member of Sabbath Quartet, where his versatility as a vocalist and his creative abilities as a writer and arranger were clearly evident. Well-versed in all vocal parts, he brings depth, balance, and musical integrity to every ensemble he serves. His gifts are complemented by a strong spiritual foundation and a heart for ministry, allowing him to connect with audiences not only through song, but through heartfelt testimony.
